Sales Representative (SR) - U.S. Special Operations Command

Job Description

Under the direction of the VP, Business Development, the Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth with new and existing customers.  The Sales Representative will become an expert in StartGuides’ sales process, briefing company products to customers, and to small extent participating in product development.  They will become knowledgeable in app distribution, security, and technology to support StartGuides’ sales.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving sales to SOCOM in FY2024, plus managing all sales associated with one of StartGuides’ Business Units.
  • Responsible for developing and briefing company leadership on your plan to achieve the sales goals and providing monthly updates detailing progress.
  • Use company-provided sales tools to track and manage sales pipelines, customers, customer engagements, and follow-ups.
  • Review and analyze sales data to project new sales and identify new potential markets and customers.
  • Coordinate with operations teams and IT to determine viability of customer requests for Research and Development.
  • Participate in operations syncs to maintain understanding of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Participate in product pricing development and offers pricing recommendations based on customer feedback.
  • Lead and augment sales calls and engagements.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Travel to and participate in industry trade shows.
    • Travel with operations teams to customer site visits.
    • Travel to view systems as part of the pricing development process.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal communicator, capable of engaging audiences.  Need to show an understanding of the audience and possess an ability to tailor discussion points to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and through writing.
    • Use a computer for extended periods, sitting or standing.
    • Communicate by remote collaboration platform (MS Teams), and type on a keyboard.
    • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and climb on and off military equipment in austere conditions.
  • Travel Requirements
    • Monthly travel consisting of 8-12 days per month.  Destinations vary and will include military installations across the continental United States and OCONUS locations.
  • Required Education and Experience
    • Military experience, specifically SOCOM experience, is highly preferred.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in D0D sales, especially to SOCOM, is highly preferred.
    • Outstanding attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
    • Demonstrated ability and strong desire to learn new systems and technology.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience in government contracting.
  • Previous experience in government acquisitions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Communications.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to legally work in the United States and must hold U.S. Citizenship.  Verification will be required to process I-9.
  • Must pass company-sponsored commercial background check and meet eligibility criteria to support U.S. Federal Government contracts
  • Security clearance beneficial but not required.
