Technical Illustrator- Adobe Illustrator Expert - Contract Part-Time

We are looking for a Contract Illustrator to join our team in creating new and innovative app-based products. The Contract Illustrator will work within a small team through a defined user-focused process to develop new products that meet customer expectations.

As part of a Project Team and under the direction of an assigned Account Executive and App Designer, the Technical Illustrator uses company-provided Adobe Illustrator templates and style guidelines to create illustrations that meet StartGuides brand standards. Working together with the User Interface and Design team, the Technical Illustrator uses reference photographs and other visual material to create illustrations which are a crucial part of our app branding.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions
• Use demonstrated expertise in Adobe Illustrator CC to create complex and beautiful technical illustrations that align with StartGuides brand and style guidelines.
• Use StartGuides-directed color, style, and illustration techniques to create vector illustrations that seamlessly blend with established illustration team and company branding.
• Support assigned project team and their app development efforts.
• Support other Graphic Design tasks as requested.
• Execute assigned tasks in accordance with prescribed deadlines.

Required Skills

Required education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience and 3 years of experience using Adobe Illustrator CC.
• Required to be able to do work on Windows based PC.
• Familiar with Microsoft Suite of products.
• Possess the confidence to present your ideas, the ability take direction, and the ability to use excellent communication skills to be responsive and engaged in your work.
• Ability to work in a Project Team environment, providing relevant and clear feedback.
• Ability to follow Company’s branding styles and templated standards.
• Ability to take directions, have confidence to present your ideas, and be detail oriented.
• Vector Illustrations: 3 years (Required)
• Adobe Illustrator: 3 years (Required)

Preferred Skills

Additional preferred experience (not required)
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
• Mechanical aptitude (the ability to look at a simple picture and understand what the parts do)

Qualifications

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

Must be able to legally work in the United States and must hold a U.S. Citizenship. Verification will be required to process I-9. Must pass company-sponsored commercial background check and meet eligibility criteria to support U.S. Federal Government contracts. Security clearance beneficial but not required.
